A Surgery-Free Alternative to Mohs

Mohs surgery is effective, but it isn't the only option — and for many patients it isn't the best one. Electronic brachytherapy and SRT offer a clinically proven, non-surgical alternative for appropriate basal cell and squamous cell skin cancers: short, painless office visits, no anesthesia, no wound care, and excellent cosmetic results, especially on the face.

Two Non-Surgical Options, One Experienced Physician

Electronic Brachytherapy

A precise, low-energy dose delivered by a small applicator directly to the skin surface, sparing healthy tissue. Each session takes minutes in a standard exam room. Alpha Dermatology has been a pioneer in this technology, with peer-reviewed published results.

Superficial Radiotherapy (SRT)

Calibrated low-energy X-rays, with high-resolution ultrasound to visualize the tumor's depth and width and tailor the dose. Especially useful for lesions on the face, ears, scalp and neck.

What Recovery Looks Like

There are no stitches and no surgical wound. Treated skin may become pink, dry, or mildly irritated over the course — similar to a sunburn — and settles in the weeks afterward. Most patients continue normal activities throughout.
