About Alpha Dermatology
Independently owned — no private equity, no corporate medicine.
Alpha Dermatology of Pennsylvania, PLLC is a physician-owned practice led by board-certified dermatologist Daniel I. Shrager, M.D., a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology who trained at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Many dermatology practices have been bought by private equity firms or corporate groups. We have chosen to stay independent, so decisions about your care are made by the clinicians who provide it.
Dr. Shrager and our physician assistants care for children and adults at our offices in Sellersville and New Hope, serving communities across Bucks and Montgomery Counties.
Skin cancer care
We provide full-body skin exams, biopsies, and treatment for skin cancer, including melanoma. For selected basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas, we offer non-surgical treatment with electronic brachytherapy or superficial radiotherapy, options Alpha Dermatology has offered in Bucks County for more than a decade. When surgery is the better choice, we perform surgical excisions and coordinate Mohs surgery with local Mohs surgeons.
Medical dermatology
We diagnose and treat acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, hair loss, hidradenitis suppurativa, vitiligo, and many other conditions of the skin, hair, and nails. Depending on your diagnosis, treatment may include prescription creams and pills, biologic medications, or excimer laser therapy. We also remove cysts, moles, and other benign growths. Cosmetic and laser treatments
Our cosmetic services include Botox and dermal fillers, Sculptra, and laser treatments such as fractional CO₂ resurfacing for wrinkles and acne scars, MOXI, and laser tattoo removal. Our sister practice, Pure by Alpha Dermatology, is dedicated entirely to aesthetic care.
Insurance and payment
We participate with many major insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans. See our in-network insurance plans for the current list, and check with your insurer before your visit. Veterans may be able to use VA Community Care benefits with an approved VA referral. Cosmetic treatments are generally not covered by insurance; financing is available through Cherry and CareCredit.
