Skincare Pyramid For Men

Sunscreens or Anti-Glycation Treatment:
One should apply sunscreen daily only if one’s sun exposure time will exceed 1 hour or if one is especially sensitive to the sun. If sun exposure time will be less than 1 hour, it is recommended that one use an anti-glycation product, Skinceuticals A.G.E. Interrupter*.

Retinoids:
Retinoic acid in proper form can reverse sun damage. Retinoic acid is the essential element in any skin rejuvenation program. Unfortunately, even the best U.S. made sunscreens allow for the penetration of damaging UV rays – so we all have extensive sun damage. Afirm® Cream* is one of the most effective and gentlest forms of retinoic acid. It has a patented delivery system invented at Duke University.

Glycolics:
The esterified fruit acids in GlyDerm* lotions, creams and cleansers, actively smooth the texture and even out the color of your skin. Some glycolics are also formulated to be beneficial in the treatment of acne.

Topical Antioxidants:
There are 2 types of antioxidants. One is applied in the morning to prevent free radical formation from sunlight. It is called Phloretin CF*. The other is applied at night to prevent free radical formation from aging. It is called Replenix™*.

Dietary Antioxidants:
Antioxidants in the following foods and spices, along with a low-fat diet, are healthful to the skin: dark berries, watermelon, broccoli, salmon, sardines, grapeseed oil, green leafy vegetables, cranberry juice, green tea, pomegranates, cauliflower, egg yolk, avocado, tomatoes, mango, almonds, turmeric, cinnamon, cumin and parsley. If you do not like to eat fish, take flaxseed oil supplements or Omega-3 fish oil supplements.
