All of our staff members are State Certified Medical Assistants, and one staff member is a certified Histotechnologist.

  • A Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) is considered the gold standard of the medical assisting profession. The credential,CMA, represents a medical assistant who has been certified by the Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants.

    After completion of an extensive core curriculum, including training in Health Sciences, Pharmacology, Health Care Management, Human Pathology, Anatomy and Physiology,and Clinical Procedures, all CMAs and Histotechs complete a preceptorship. Dermatology CMAs are then trained by Dr.Glavey, a Board-Certified Dermatologist.

    At AlphaDerm, all staff members have received extensive one-on-one training by Dr. Glavey on every piece of equipment used and on every procedure performed in our office. Staff members are required to pass regularly scheduled quality control assessments and written and oral examinations.

  • A Histotechnologist is a medical professional who specializes in the structure of organ tissue including cells and their organization into various body tissues.After completing a two year nursing program, followed by two years of clinical training in a Joint Commission-approved hospital, certification is awarded through the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.

Our staff are further educated through regularly scheduled didactic lectures by Dr.Glavey.

As of January 2012, the non-physician and non-PA staff have accumulated 73,500 hours of clinical experience and have accumulated 129,000 hours of procedural experience.
